A BIT ABOUT US
We’ve been a practicing Yoga Studio since 2000. The foundation of our studio combines the physical with the inner emotional and spiritual journey. By integrating body, breath, movement, and meditative awareness, we promote awareness of the interdependency of all these aspects in personal health and wellbeing. At Heat Fitness and Yoga, we use our extensive training and in-depth understanding of the human body and psyche to teach and cultivate awareness of one’s own practice and life process.

Here are a few words from the Doctor:
“I believe the body is a dynamic structure and neuromuscular injuries are dynamic in nature. I believe soft tissue rehab is just as important as aligning and adjusting the spine. Every patient is unique and therefore their treatment plans are unique to them. I don’t believe in cookie cutter treatments or adjusting. At my office you can expect a Doctor who listens, and truly focuses on getting you better. I utilize many different adjusting techniques and the office is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. I use flexion/distraction and spinal decompression, cold laser therapy, massage therapy, the Kinesio Taping Method, and Foot Levelers Spinal Pelvic Stabilizer inserts to name a few. Please browse through our website to learn about Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and how some of these treatments may be beneficial to you.”

Why functional medicine?
Because it gets to the root cause of a problem instead of masking symptoms.
Addressing the root causes not only helps relieve symptoms, it also improves energy, motivation, sleep, mood, and even libido.
It’s very common for people who see a functional medicine practitioner for one complaint to boost their overall well-being. People often don’t realize they have been feeling worse and worse over the years. They just adapt.
Using functional medicine to find the root causes of chronic health disorders
If the engine light in your car comes on, what do you? You assume something is wrong with the engine and get it checked out and repaired. You do not, however, cover up the engine light with duct tape or rip it out of the dash. This may turn it off but it does nothing to address why it came on.
This is how functional medicine works. We don’t automatically reach for a drug or surgery for your symptoms (although sometimes one or both are necessary). Instead, we look for what is causing the symptoms.
The cause can be different for each person, even though the symptom is the same.
For instance, 10 different people with depression can each have a different cause, such as gluten intolerance, a chronic infection, or a blood sugar imbalance. None of these are an SSRI deficiency
